Laundry Manager 2

The Department of Veterans Services seeks an experienced and highly motivated Laundry Manager/Housekeeping Manager to join our team in "serving those who served." This is a unique opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of the Ohio Veterans. The responsibilities are as follows:
Supervises custodial and laundry workers performing duties following state and local laws, rules and regulations according to established protocol and infection control procedures; schedules, assigns and prioritizes work assignments; reviews & evaluates work performed; trains &/or instructs new employees in use of cleaning & laundry equipment & proper use of machinery & procedures to be used; provides inservice & health & safety programs; inspects areas for cleanliness, health & safety hazards, odors & pest controls & assures compliance with established standards, ensures custodial & laundry staff exercise principles of infection control (e.g, wiping up spills & fluids on floor; washing beds & other furniture, etc.); establishes laundry quality standards & production levels for department; directs distribution & storage of finished laundry; charts & logs quantities of laundry collected & cleaned; writes periodic reports as required.
Formulates laundry & housekeeping budget; interviews applicants & recommends for hire; prepares requisitions for supplies & equipment as needed. Maintains sanitary & safe conditions in facility. Oversees donations of clothing.
Receives calls from facility staff regarding laundry &/or housekeeping issues/needs & resolves complaints; assist staff in completion of housekeeping (e.g., sweeps & mops floors, cleans walls, windows, floors, furniture & fixtures, renews floor surface, cleans & empties trash receptacles) & laundry (e.g., loads/unloads washer or dryer; folds & stacks clothes; picks up & delivers laundry to units). Rearranges furniture in resident's rooms.
Monitors use, maintenance & repair of cleaning & laundry equipment; maintains inventory of cleaning & laundry supplies & equipment; completes & submits work orders; reports major repairs, hazardous conditions, evident of fire, illegal entry & theft of property to appropriate personnel, attends staff meetings & conducts departmental meetings as required; attends required workshops, seminars, inservice training & meetings; performs any additional job related duties as assigned.
6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in laundry practices & procedures; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in labor relations; 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in laundry equipment safety practices & procedures; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in budgeting; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in inventory control.
Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
